The next coffee shop on the Chincha radar is Heyday Cafe in Itaewon. I was walking from Haebangchon over the hill to Itaewon and I found this place. It’s a pretty small, but really cool coffee shop. It had all of its doors open, which led to some outdoor decking with seating.
I love that you can just walk around Seoul, turn a corner and find some kind of independently run coffee shop or cafe. They often have so much character, just like this place, which also does a mighty fine green tea latte.
For those of you who have never tried one, green tea lattes are fabulous – but then again, I love green tea flavoured anything. I’ve even decided that green tea lattes are even better than black tea and chai flavoured lattes (except Latte King‘s, of course).
I don’t know the exact address, but I will find out. For now, find the restaurant Petra at 552 Itaewon-dong Yongsan-gu Seoul. Pass it and keep walking further up the hill for about two minutes. Heyday will be on your left just before you get onto the main street of Itaewon. Have a green tea latte, have a nice chat with the lovely woman behind the counter and just enjoy being in a cool little cafe, hidden from the main streets and noise of Itaewon.
