It’s the weekend after New Years, and although everybody needs a well deserved break there is no rest for Seoul. Admittedly there isn’t as much going on as usual, but there is still more than enough to keep you occupied and to keep your spirits up as the freezing January weather descends.

Night Flea Market: Platoon

More Saturday shenanigans can be found again, at Gangnam’s Platoon in the form of their monthly night flea market. We have talked about this market before and highly recommend it. The market is an excellent way to spend your Saturday evening, especially if you want to find bargain clothing and buy some more jumpers (sweaters) to keep you warm in these FREAKING FREEZING COLD TEMPERATURES. Que the snow.

Flea Market starts at 6pm and Platoon is easily accessible by public transport:

Subway
Hakdong station exit 10. 10 minutes walk or taxi.
Apgujung station exit 3. 15 minutes walk or taxi.

Bus
145, 440 bus from Sinsa Station then get off at the SC First Bank.
301, 472, 361 bus from Apgujung Station then get off at the Yongdong High s=School.

Since it’s the weekend after New Years, there is more daytime shizz to do than anything else, and it is probably a good idea to take it easy. Although we are lacking in the amount of special events this weekend, January has more to come including Damien Rice, Soul Electronic Music Festival, Beirut, and the Lunar New Year.
