HBC Winter Acoustic Festival

If you’re around the Yongsan area this weekend and fancy listening to some acoustic then this festival, ongoing till the end of April, has live acts at Phillies, VFW and The Orange Tree, all in Haebangchon (go to Noksapyeong Stationg and walk up past the kimchi pots).  Here’s the full line-up.

Project Outings are putting on our event of the week this week.  They say:

“Stranger Than Paradise exploits the flux between reality and lucid dreams. An excuse to escape from your daily routine, it digs into a social experiment creating a new way to entertain. Influenced mostly by the sounds of disco, house, funk and techno, it provides a quality dance music scene to Seoul.”

If that doesn’t have you convinced then the stellar line-up of Toshiya Kawasaki, The Weekend and Andy Numan should help, along with this rather alluring event invitation.

The entrance fee is 20,000 won unless you sign up for free pre-11:30pm guestlist here or by sending “Stranger Than Paradise” at  A confirmation will be sent back to you via e-mail.

InterNations Event

There is an InterNations Seoul get together tonight at Hub in Itaewon (below the lovely IP Boutique Hotel).  It’s on from 6pm – 10pm and you can request a personal invitation from their website, which also has prices and further details.  Food and drink will be available and after 10pm Hub turns into a club, so you won’t have to leave in a hurry.

Drop the Bass One Year Anniversary

If you’re into roots, reggae, d&b and dubstep then this is where we’re most likely to find you come Saturday night.  This event at 명월관/ Myoungwolgwan starts at 10pm and finishes at 5am for 15,000 won plus a free drink.  The line-up includes Didi Bones and Tweek.  For directions to Myoungwolgwan and anything else you might need to know, head to the Facebook page.

As always, let us know if you know on of any other events you think we should be sharing this week.
