One of the things that characterises youthful Britain is the ever-changing music scene. It’s one of the most dynamic on the planet, particularly in the big cities, with London clearly being the central focus when it comes to discovering the best, most unconventional acts. This is why we’re pretty keyed-up about the introduction of Bok Bok to Seoul. As part-creator of Night Slugs, the regular event Vice Magazine calls “one of our favourite nights in London”, Bok Bok is certainly at the forefront when it comes to the creation of the fresh and indefinable sounds currently emanating out of the UK’s capital.
Indefinable is undeniably the most suitable adjective according to Bok Bok himself. When discussing an appropriate name for the current UK dance music scene, he told The Guardian: “There’s actually a ban on giving it a name. The moment it gets a name…it starts to die away.” His bio attributes his own sound to a mixture of genres though, with an emphasis on heavy-bass and a love of grime.
Whatever you want to call it, we have free pre-12am entries to give away for Bok Bok’s appearance at Globe Lounge on Saturday night to the first 10 people who get in touch with us, either by comment or by emailing email@example.com.
