POWWOW! Launch Festival
From Friday to Sunday new venue POWWOW, previously known as the Laughing Tree Lab, will be opening its doors under new management for its first event. A collaboration between Open Your Eyes Booking, Super Color Super and a number of other members of the Korean artistic community, this art and music festival is set to be the launch of a promising new Seoul venue. 20 bands will be performing over the course of the weekend, including Table People, Vidulgi Ooyoo, Love X Stereo and Juck Juck Grunzie. G’Old Vinyl DJs will end the evening on Saturday with their vintage tunes.

Ultra Music Festival
The eagerly anticipated Ultra Music Festival is coming to Olympic Stadium this Friday and Saturday night. On Friday well-known DJs such as Skillrex, Steve Aoki, Sidney Samson, Elioriso, Shut Da Mouth, Freakhouze and Tokyo Big Boy will be gracing the stage. On Saturday Tiesto, Carl Cox, John Digweed, Chuckie, The Crystal Method, Sander Kleinenberg, Yousef, Jon Rundell, DJ Koo, and Ken Ishii will be playing, along with a ton of other music-makers over the course of the weekend.
Tickets: Friday ticket 110,000 won, Saturday ticket 132,000 won, Two-day ticket 180,000 won.

Freebird, Hongdae
If you want a low-key night, or aren’t excited by some of the major events we have to offer this weekend, then the reasonably priced band night ‘Rock n’ Roll Divas’ at Club Freebird might be of some interest to you. 5 bands, one free drink, and several Rock n’ Roll DJs to end the night. If you’re in Hongdae on Friday evening then it may be worth stopping by.

SATURDAY
Shindig Vol. 8
This week sees the return of the retro and motown Shindig party to Hongdae. We recently posted about this to give you a taster of what to expect from the event at Myoung Wol Gwan, which is the best event to get your sweat and your dance on this Saturday night. James Walsh
James Walsh of Starsailor fame, Toxic, Burntout House and Human Race are all appearing at AX-Korea this weekend. James Walsh has sold over 3 million records worldwide, and is also playing in Busan for the Busan International Rock Festival on Friday night.
