So here are the pictures of our legendary block party last Saturday night, in association with Zandari Festa, Aweh and Oh! Records. Wooh!
Since the event was all about promoting the different subcultures that exist in Seoul, particularly around the Hongdae area, we asked our favourite underground DJs and bands to play. We had live music on the Loose Union and Unionway Krew stage from indie bands Love X Stereo, Used Cassettes, Juck Juck Grunzie and Table People vs. punk rock from The Coin Rocker Boys and The Strikers.
Oh! Records’ Oh! Fiesta had DJs Double Strike, DJ Gon, DJ Byul, Lad Monkeys, Club 505 and Kyper play from their label.
At the Chincha Garage Party, which we curated, Mikey from Shindig kickstarted the night with some funk and soul, followed by Project Outings’ Dambi; the only female DJ on the line-up. Multi Seoul‘s Rou Set and Shins played an incredible UK garage and house set, with Sam Gates and Paffers from Busan’s Strut night coming next. Lewis Anthony (Social Underground) and Trashvortex (Silk/ Juice) finished the night in style for us, keeping everyone going till 6am.
