Remember that really good film Drive? Remember that it also had a fantastic soundtrack? Well, College, whose song ‘A Real Hero’ featured on Drive’s OST, will be impressing Itaewon this weekend with his unique blend of 80s synth grooves and nostalgic disco.

Drive was one of 2011′s most well-received films. It featured solid acting by Ryan Gosling, achieved best director at Cannes and had a stellar soundtrack, all of which helped to win over audiences and audophiles alike. College’s innovative disco sound has gone towards rekindling this almost-forgotten 80′s scene, but now without the awful mullets, terrible fashion and bad dancing. Although from France, College is greatly influenced by American pop culture and his aim is to, in his own words, ‘synthesize into my music the emotions of my childhood’ – something that he has been doing since he started creating music in the 90s.

College will be playing a one-off live DJ set at the chic and swanky Globe Lounge this weekend, so make sure that you catch him while you can – it’s a show that’s sure to pack a punch.

And you know it’s going to be good when it’s organised by the well-known and respected and Brokenteeth – the guys behind countless amazing party nights in Seoul.

College will be playing on May 19th at the Globe Lounge in Itaewon. Entry is free until 10pm for those on guestlist – either message your name to the numbers on the or quote ‘Chincha’ at the door. From 10pm to 11pm tickets cost 10 000 won + one free drink (for those also on guestlist) and after 11pm the price jumps up to 20,000 won plus a free drink.

This event is going to be ridiculously popular so make sure you get down early to avoid queues/ not getting in.
