We’re sure you’re aware of TED, the inspiring lecture series freely available online, but did you know that the ‘TED x’ series has been running for awhile in Sinchon, Seoul? Now on their 7th event, the organisers behind the independently-run franchise of TED have chosen a ‘Cabinet of Curiosities’ theme for their newest talks.
According to TED x Sinchon, “‘Cabinet of Curiosities’ refers to a room where aristocrats gathered stuff they found interesting in the seventeenth century in Europe, following the discovery of the New World.” Throughout the evening of the 25th of May, 2013, it is hoped that lecturers and a participating audience will exchange ideas related to “curiosities that changed the world, no matter how big or small, and the stories of speakers who put them into action.”
The talks will be bilingual, with Korean subtitles if the talk is in English and English subtitles if the talk is in Korean.
