is a fleamarket that is aimed towards the young, vintage-loving generation of Korea. It began as a three-way venture between blogger Sukwoo Hong of Your Boyhood, Sukjong Jang, Editor-in-Chief of Cracker Magazine and Minkoo Kang, Director of online shop The Tizza. They were motivated to raise money in the aftermath of the Japanese earthquake and decided to start a project that they knew they would enjoy.
They launched FIFTYSEOUL in March 2011, so named because 50% of the profits of the stallholders and the market all go to charity. They have collaborated with designers such as Viva-H on exclusive FIFTYSEOUL t-shirts (50 limited edition, which are now sold out) in previous markets. They plan to collaborate with more designers in the future, again with profits contributing to charitable causes.
The 4th FIFTYSEOUL is happening this Saturday, the 16th July, from 2pm – 7pm at Seoul Social Club, Garosu-gil, Sinsa-dong.
