South Korea never sleeps. So why should we? We are going to publish updates on the great things that are happening in Korea on a weekly basis. This way you won’t miss out on the best things going on, in our opinion. So, be sure to keep Chincha!? as your first port of call.

It’s that time of year again when we have an excuse to drink good beer and eat sausages. Not that we need an excuse. Oktoberfest is not just celebrated in Munich, Germany – the fair is a worldwide event. There are a bunch of events floating around but the all-you-can-eat event at the Oasis Banyan Tree Hotel Club & Spa Seoul this Sunday (2nd October) stands out above the rest. It’s above standard in that it’s at a stunning venue where the beer is high quality…even including Guinness, which is usually 8,000 a pop most places. The price is 45,000 if you click attending on the . And did we mention there well be some awesome Korean bands performing like ?

2) Platoon Flea Market

Platoon Flea Market is what it is. A flea market at its best at a great venue with great finds. As well as unlabelled items you could also be lucky enough to find A-class brands at a super cheap price. It’s free entry and 20,000 to participate as a seller. So what if someone else has had their paws on your goods, if it looks good it doesn’t matter, right?

3) The Jarasum Jazz Festival

Here at Chincha!? we love any excuse for a festival. For those who fancy something different this weekend you should go to the Jarasum Jazz Festival. It’s pretty big news and has run successfully for 8 years, drawing over 750 visitors to the beautiful Jaraseom Island last year over 3 days. You can camp, lie in the sun, eat cheese, drink wine and relax. Click here, to find directions and more details on the festival.

This show is on at Freebird in celebration of Jarasum at 7pm on Monday October 3rd.

5) Busan

It’s a long weekend and if you can stand the crowds then join the thousands that flock to Busan on most long weekends. Check out our previous review for more details. You never have a bad time in Busan.

The above bands are all playing at FF on Saturday October 1st. We’re huge Wagwak fans and our sources tell us that the rest of the line-up is well worth watching too.

7) Come See Us

Chincha!? are making a short film this weekend in Hongdae. We will be giving out free shots of soju if you answer one question about the drink on camera. More details on location and time to come on the . Come and have some fun with us. It could make you famous…
