December 1st is dedicated worldwide as World AIDS Day. As such, some of the most popular venues in Hongdae banded together for their annual Rubber Seoul event. To mark the occasion, every patron that when into one of the five venues for the event were given a “Little Traveller” – a beaded doll handmade by individuals at the Hillcrest Centre in South Africa to remind everyone that their contributions will go out and help those that have affected by HIV/AIDS. The event brought many different genres into the mix including punk, indie pop, rockabilly and funk to make sure there was something for everyone to enjoy. Of course, trying to cover all these bands that are playing in 5 different venues by my lonesome self is difficult enough, so I’ve compiled a couple of snapshots of the event for you to check out.
