This week on Chincha we’ve been behind the scenes on an indie film in South Korea, checked out 10 of the country’s weirdest tourist attractions (penis park trip, anyone?), and published a gorgeous photoessay of some of Seoul’s sexiest walls and doors. Swarovski Exhibition at Daelim Museum

Occurring until March 17th 2013, if you think that diamonds really are a girl’s best friend then you need to get down to the Daelim Museum to spy some of the finest sparkling objects on earth. Swarovski are a world-renowned crystal company and will be displaying many of their historical wares at the showing, including diamond-laden iconic dresses from designers such as Christian Dior. Rou Set at Cakeshop

One of our favourite Seoul DJs Rou Set, who we recently interviewed for our Shot of Soju series, is taking over. For anyone that’s into garage and grime head to the Itaewon club this Fri for a feature-length beats and bass session that’s likely to be awesome judging from past performances. And the fact that he’s promised to play the song below which is a TUNE.

Bass Attack

The regular underground club night Bass Attack is at Myoungwolgwan this weekend with a team of some of its regular DJs; the fantastically named Team Boner included. Linus’ BBQ Pop-up 

There’s another BBQ pop-up going on this weekend, but this time with a twist: chicken is now on the menu and it comes with white bbq sauce, which we’re very curious to try out. The event is at Hannam-dong cafe Ways of Seeing and even if you don’t plan on attending, just for Linus’ depraved sexual and food-related humour :)

Tetsuji Yashima in Seoul

Club Quadro, who has always been very supportive of the Seoul dance music scene, is unfortunately closing its doors after this Saturday night. For its last blowout Japanese techno DJ Tetsuji Yashima has been invited to play in his “distinct style” (according to ).

Mr. Headbutt at Lowrise, Mullae

We’ve been hearing a lot of rave reviews of venue Lowrise recently, so this weekend we’re definitely going to be heading to the area of Mullae to see if it’s really true that this is where the Hongdae music scene is slowly moving. Mr. Headbutt from Daegu is playing his last show there and support comes from some local Seoul bands. You can find a map to the club on Lowrise’s blog.


Beach House Live in Seoul!

This is been on every music-loving Seoulites radar for ages, so if you haven’t picked up your tickets yet now’s your chance!
