ALPHONSE MUCHA EXHIBIT @ Seoul Art Center
Not only is the Seoul Arts Center showing , including Hayao Miyazaki himself, they’ve also got the work of legendary artist and designer Mucha on display. The exhibition of the Art Nouveau icon’s elaborate work is creating a storm amongst Seoul’s art lovers. Swing by the Hangaram Art Museum to take a look. The exhibition will run until September 22nd. Tickets are 12,000 won.

SEOUL FASHION CREATIVE STUDIO POP-UP SALE @ U:US
Grab some unique fashion items at knock-down prices and support young, creative Korean designers while you’re at it. Hugely popular DJ Brenmar definitely lives up to the hype surrounding him. The Chicago born DJ has created a buzz with his unique style, blending glossy commercial sounds with gritty underground beats. This Friday, UK DJ Feed Me is flying in to Seoul to do a set at The A before he travels to Japan to perform at the world-renowned Fuji Rock Festival. Catch him before it’s too late. Advance tickets are 30,000 won but will be 40,000 on the door.

If you missed it last weekend, you have one more chance to take in the festivities of everyone’s favourite alcohol-laden, skin rejuvenating, West Coast festival. MASIL GLOBAL FLEA MARKET @ Jazzy M.A.S
This global flea market, organized by arts space Jazzy M.A.S. and creative group MASSIM, will be making its debut on Saturday and will be open until Sunday at Hi-Brand shopping mall in Gangnam-gu. Visitors will have the opportunity to view the artwork, handmade crafts and organic products for sale as well as take part in art experience programs. Programs offer the chance for you to create designer toys, make bracelets or design your own t-shirts. On the Saturday there will also be an after party held at Jazzy M.A.S. in Sinsa. WATER GUN FESTIVAL @ Shinchon
On Saturday the streets of Shinchon will be taken over by people looking for a fun way to cool down in the heat. The will kick off at 2pm although staff will be on hand from midday onwards. Water guns and plastic drawstring bags will be sold on-site but visitors are welcome to bring their own. The group encourages you to bring spare clothing to change into afterwards. SILK/ JUICE’S SWEATY BILLS @ Exit
If you’re staying in Seoul this weekend, why not swing by Hongdae where DGURU from Idiotape (and unique-t0-Korea DJ project Volt Age Sound) will be DJing. Silk/Juice are hosting the event at EXIT, promising “dirt, house and sweat” until the sun comes up. The entrance is free and the booze cheap. Take a look for more information.

Minnesota-based actor, dancer, and playwright, Sun Mee Chomet, will be debuting her show ‘How to Be a Korean Woman’ in Seoul next Tuesday and Thursday at the Post Theater in Hongdae. The award-winning one-woman show has been described as “hilarious and poignant,” and is about how the adoptee’s reunion with her birth family has affected her sense of what it means to be a woman.
