Korea’s version of Gay pride, the Korea Queer Festival, fell on Saturday the 1st of June this year. The 14th consecutive event received problems with funding this year and only managed to go ahead due to financial donations from a few individuals. Even with these setbacks, and the well-known culture of homophobia in Korea, people took to the streets en masse in support of the LGBT fest. What transpired was a very fun day out in Hongdae including drag performances, impromptu street dancing, and a small but busy parade.
