Gwanghwan International Arts Festival

Gwanghwan International Arts Festival will be at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts Art Hall 175 Sejongdae-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul from now until May 22nd. GIAF is an annual art festival that aims to improve the quality of Korean art. The work of more than 500 domestic and international artists will be exhibited. THURSDAY

DIPLO in Seoul

DIPLO is in Seoul on his Asian tour this week, appearing at Club Holic in Sinsa this Thursday (tonight!). The American DJ rose to fame after collaborating with M.I.A and is well-known in Korea due to his work with Big Bang’s GD & T.O.P. You can buy tickets for the set (in English) on YES24 for the cheaper advance price of 33,000won, or you can buy them at the door for 44,000. FRIDAY

Paul Van Dyke at Club Octagon

International DJ Paul Van Dyke is in Seoul on Friday, which is big news for all the electronic music lovers out there. Paul Van Dyke has been well-established in the world’s top 10 superstar DJ charts since he received a Grammy nomination back in 2004; something that is almost unheard of for a DJ. His most recent album ‘Eternity’ was released on the 3rd of April, so expect some new floorfillers and most importantly, a huge crowd, which goes hand in hand with any shows he plays at. Van Dyke will be DJing at the Octagon, a superclub renowned for a its insanely attractive patrons and strict dress code. For more details you can visit Club Octagon on .

SATURDAY

Unionway Fest

Unionway Krew are an underground collective who often hold events centred around skate culture. This weekend they’re holding a punk rock festival near Hapjeong Station from 5:30pm. If you’re into punk music then you really shouldn’t miss this event; we went to the last one and were well impressed with the calibre of the acts. Dance to Guitars at Freebird

A night for guitar music lovers to dance their socks off, held at the popular live music club Freebird. There will be a few special bands playing followed by the usual set of DJs. One of the bands featured will be Angry Bear, who are a common front runner within the expat indie music scene. You can check out an interview we did with them a while back here. Asobi Seksu in Seoul

This is the last international gig that promoters SuperColorSuper will be organizing, due to financial reasons. With a list of quality acts having been brought to Seoul by the team in the last three years this gig will truly be the end of an era. Shindig Dance Party
