Unionway Krew are a skateboarding collective who emerged from the Korean punk rock scene in 2004, later inspiring Japanese band Smash Raid to create their own version on that island just over the East Sea. Both groups are bringing together a bunch of punk bands from Korea and Japan this Saturday for Unionway Fest 2012, including The Coin Rocker Boys and The Strikers, two bands that one of our music writers rated highly in his review of Firewheels Vol 1 (the last Unionway event we went to; click on the link for some cool pictures).

The event is sponsored by the brands VACANT Project, Bastard, Ratbat, Monster Drink, Nike SB, and StuntB Skateboards, who will all be supplying prizes for a lucky draw you can enter on the day.

Unionway Fest will be starting at 5:30pm this Saturday at Live Prism Hall near Hapjeong Station (Hongdae area). Leave through Exit 3 and walk straight for 5 minutes before veering right, as shown on the map below.

If you want to avoid shuffling and see some real homegrown Korean punk, this Saturday is your chance.
