Art of Facts, the upcoming online heritage goods store, held their first pop-up shop on Saturday Nov 10th at Seoul Salon in Itaewon. Having converted the second floor of the venue into a showroom and shop, the first floor became a coffee bar and a pick-up spot for Chef Andru Kim’s prepared-to-order PICNIC lunchboxes, the pop-up restaurant also involved in the launch.

As well as food and carefully curated apparel and accessories, live acoustic sets from MYK (below) and Big Phony entertained shoppers and diners. Later on, Seoul Salon turned back into a party space with DJs Plastickid, Aether, Jinbo, and Afroking Reunion holding the fort.

The clothes and accessories on offer were carefully chosen from quality international brands. Below you can see scarves and bandanas by Kapital (Japan), waxed canvas dopp bags by Tanner Goods (Portland, Oregon USA and artisanal chocolates by Mast Brothers (Brooklyn, NY USA).  The olive, khaki and burgundy waterproof notepads are by Rite in the Rain (Tacoma, Washington) and the linen-lined notebooks are, again, by Tanner Goods (Portland, Oregon USA).

Here’s a little from Art of Facts about why they do pop-ups:

As an online shop, we realize that this age of one-click shopping removes the human element of touching and feeling a product, seeing it up close and personally. Pop-ups allow us to curate a selection of our catalog in an environment of our choice, where a person can tangibly interact with a product and learn more about how and by whom it was made.  After hearing the story behind the product in one’s hands, one can truly appreciate the quality of its craftsmanship and the core values of a brand. For us at Art of Facts, handcrafted heritage goods are an invaluable, necessary and sustainable tradition, with legacies that will hopefully carry on for future generations to come.

Art of Facts will be  holding a similar event sometime in early December – we’ll keep you posted on when. You can  or follow them on tumblr to keep notified. Their site will be online soon.
