Feb. 2 to Feb. 28: ÅLAND SALE

One of my favorite shops in Korea, Åland, has opened up a branch in Itaewon relatively recently and is now hosting a “flea market” sale of clothing from up-and-coming designers, discounted between 30 and 70 percent. Friday Feb. 7 and Saturday Feb. 8: HANGUL T-SHIRT EXHIBITION

See the super funky, newly reopened Dongdaemun Design Plaza being put to good use with the exhibition of 100 T-shirts by 100 artists — both homegrown and international. The T-shirts have all been created with inspiration from Hangul, or the Korean alphabet, and , the designs should keep you amused for a while. If they don’t, the Zahid Hadid-created venue will.

Friday Feb. 7: ACTION

Four Korea-based indie bands Les Sales, Juck Juck Grunzie, Slow Dress and Love X Stereo are playing at Yogiga, a cellar that gets occasionally made into a gig venue. Love X have just released a one-take music video of their song “Fly Over,” the first in a series filmed at Union Studio in Seoul. .

Saturday Feb. 8: BIKE PARTY SEOUL

Grab your wheels, it’s Bike Party’s 16th edition, and this time the theme is “Love Your Bike.” This means you should attach some tassels on it. Bikes like that.

Saturday Feb. 8: FIRST FLEA MARKET AT MIKE’S CABIN

The clue is in the name: Mike’s Cabin in Hongdae is hosting a bring-and-buy flea market this weekend. Time to do some spring cleaning? Starts at 11am. .

Saturday Feb. 8: DMZ AT DOJO

Regular event DMZ is on this weekend but with a twist. From 11pm to 12:30am the decks will be open for amateurs to come and try their hand at DJing to a crowd. .

Saturday Feb. 8: MICROMUSICA LAUNCH PARTY

DJs from Social Underground, Project Outings and Tanzabend come together to bring you , Soul Kitchen in Hannam-dong. Micromusica residents Aaron Cho and Vincent Baak are joined by Dambi Kim of Project Outings for the party, which costs 10,000 won for entry. 

Saturday Feb. 8: PROPER GLOW X SILK/JUICE

Proper Glow, a group of folks who dig for some of minor genres of electronic music, are organising a party this Saturday at Owl Lounge, Itaewon, in collaboration with SILK/JUICE, a crew who playing some of the most advanced tunes in Seoul. .
